How to Manually Update the Motorola Droid to Android 2.1

Android OS Motorola

Verizon Wireless has started rolling out with the new Android 2.1 update for the Motorola Droid. It is an OTA (over-the-air) update. But if you are eager to get the update sooner, then you can perform a manual update using the following instructions.

Instructions :

Things You'll Need:

  • Motorola Droid by Verizon Wireless
  • Update file - link provided below

How to update an Android OS

Android OS
Android is the fastest-growing smart phone platform in the United States. There's at least two Android devices on every carrier, with a large variety of form factors and manufacturers. The downside to having different Android phones with custom skin such as HTC Sense, Samsung TouchWiz and Moto Blur is fragmentation of the OS. Google has updated its Android OS several times in the past year, but not all devices receive the update at the same time. Depending on the carrier and manufacturer, some phones receive the update as soon as its released (Google Nexus One) and others take months. Updates for Android OS are downloaded over the air and are checked in the phone's "Settings" menu.

iPhone Vs Motorola Droid

Droid VS Iphone
All the smartphones coming out this fall in time for the holiday season, and there's only one (besides the iPhone of course) that everybody's talking about. It's the Droid, of course (and in case you're wondering, like we were - yes, they did have to pay Lucasfilm's a boatload of money for the rights to use the Droid name). Is it the iPhone-killer? Isn't it? Let's find out...

This Droid, unlike R2D2, runs on Google. And if there's one OS that all eyes are on to see if they can take a bite out of Apple, it's the Google Android OS. Even RIM's BB OS is no longer being seen as a competitor for Apple so much as the enterprise camp to Apple's multimedia jungle. But now here's the Android system, the internet ring of this 3-ring mobile OS circus...or maybe it's the big top itself, since enterprise and multimedia require internet to function. And that, in a nutshell, is why everybody, including Apple, is scared of Google. Now as the for the Motorola Droid...

Motorola Droid X - A Specification

Motorola Droid
A new classical Motorola Android phone is coming possibly in July 2010. Motorola Droid X is perfect smartphone which can compete with nice HTC Evo 4 or iPhone 4G. It will be the largest phone available in US market because it is even larger than HTC Evo 4. Let's take a specification review of the iron phone Motorola Droid X.

Operating System and Hardware Specification
It runs on Android 2.1 OS with latest MotoBlur extensions.Motorola Droid X has 1 GHz TI-OMAP 3630 processor. It will come with 512Mb RAM and 8GB Flash ROM.

Display and Screen Resolution
With a 4.3" inches touch-screen with high resolution, Motorola Droid X provides its costumers an excellent display results. A 854 X 480 screen make it the largest available screen. Beneath this screen, there are four buttons to perform usual functions. Motorola Droid X has a very cool keyboard than other smart phones. You can easily type you data without lifting your fingers.

Why QWERTY is Invented

The QWERTY keyboard is invented in the early 1870's. The man behind this great invention is Christopher Sholes, who was an editor and also a printer. Through trial and error he perfected his invention and overall it has taken him six years in order to finally create the perfect type writer. In 1878, a patent is created for a type writer. It was a drawing of a type writer that specifies how the letters and alphabets are located.

QWERTY Cell Phones
These days there are way too many alternatives to the excellent QWERTY. We have Maltron keyboard, Dvorak Simplified Keyboard and many more. These alternatives might not be better while some of them might be similar in many ways.

Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro - Enhancing the Best Symbian

Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro
"Having announced Sony Ericsson Vivaz™ in January we are now adding a sister phone that includes a QWERTY keyboard along with the touch screen for a superior messaging and entertainment experience." Those are the introductory words of Sony Ericsson's Marketing Business Manager Daniel Sandblom when unveiling the Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro at the recently concluded 2010 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

At first glance it does look every inch like the Vivaz but now it has a tactile QWERTY keyboard sliding out. The Vivaz Pro is consistent with what seems to be a new emerging trend in the Sony Ericsson portfolio for 2010 releasing smartphones in tandem with the "pro" affixed to the brand to indicate QWERTY slider model.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 - Sony's Key to Recovery

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10
Sony's XPERIA line up is headed for what might turn out to be its best mobile phone in a decade. Correction: the best smartphone ever made. We've drooled over the first two XPERIA handsets but more on their looks as they eventually delivered short on expectations. We can only think of one reason about their lackluster performance - they had Windows Mobile for their operating system.

Enough said about a garbage OS. This time around, the struggling mobile phone giant is pinning its hopes to regain lost grounds with the right platform - Google's open source Android. With presumably unique enhancements to make it Sony's own and calling it UX, short for User eXperience, the Android 1.6-run Sony Erickson XPERIA X10 looks like a real winner that can topple occupants sitting on top of many mobile phone totem poles. And that includes the iPhone 3GS.

Nokia C5 - The Ultimate C Series Smart Phone

Nokia seems to be bucking the trend with its newest C-5 model, which resembles an iPhone, at least the screen. And it appears to be an instant hit with cell phone and smart phone consumers. With the C, E, X, N series devices, Nokia is able to deliver the right personal tech at the right price to each and every user, from the low end to the high-end techno geek and early adopter. The C-5 model is not the top of the line phone, although it looks it, and it's not anywhere near the bottom either. It's more like middle of the road phone with the right lines and the right look for the right price.

The phone has highspeed packet access for data transfer, which is nice, and it takes very detailed and high-resolution pictures with over a 15 GB hard drive. It is not yet available in the US, but the company is selling them like hot cakes on pre-orders to their dealer networks in Africa, Middle East, Asia and Europe. The phone has the ability to use Google and Microsoft email, and instant messaging services. It is obvious Nokia wants no part of the brand war, only wants to sell a ton of phones. But will they you ask?

An 8-Step Process to Solve the Great Smartphone Debate - iPhone Versus EVO

The two factions of supporters are as polarizing as politics. Most Mac users and iPhone lovers are drooling over Steve Jobs' keynote presentation yesterday at Apple's Worldwide Developer's Conference (WWDC) 2010. Android loyalists shrug their shoulders and point out a laundry list of reasons why the iPhone is not a threat to the fast-growing Droid(TM) market.

Personally, this debate hits me at the core. I am a self-proclaimed Apple slappy yet I purchased the HTC EVO last Friday on opening day. Thus far I love the EVO (and will love it more as soon as the Android 2.2 OS - also called Froyo - becomes available). However, I have to admit that in reviewing the WWDC rollout I began to question whether I should take advantage of Sprint's 30-day satisfaction guarantee.

Android Cell Phones - The New Era

Google Android plans to expand its platform by launching five new devices in 1H 2010, including handsets from Motorola, Dell and HTC. An open source interface, Android was released almost a year ago with expectations that it would revolutionize the smartphone market. A survey conducted at the close of 2009 demonstrated that Android was indeed roiling the market, Motorola's Droid smartphone being the biggest beneficiary.

Android: Open Handset Alliance

Android, enmeshing Internet-style innovation and openness to cell phones, delivers a complete software set for cellular devices, including

Latest Mobile Phones 2010

Hardly a day passes without the launch of a new mobile handset in the United Kingdom. Each new device carrying with it additional features and add ons. Now this development is possible only with the mobile communications technology progressing at the speed of light. Only a few months back we had a set of mobile phones compatible with 2G networks. Now we have the 3G mobile phones. Some of the 3G phones like the Applie iPhone 3G have not wasted any time in making a more advanced version of the 3G phone itself. Now the Apple iPhone 4G have been announced for a early June, 2010 release.

If Apple is doing it, we can rest assured that Research in Motion (maker of the famed Blackberries), HTC, Nokia, Samsung, LG Sony Ericsson, Google, Motorola, Acer all are either about to bring out their own versions of the 4G compatible phones are already there in the market.
For a year wrought with global recession, terrorist attacks in different parts of the world, swine flu and quire a few natural disasters, 2009 did not do badly at all when it came to the mobile phone industry.

The Top 5 HTC Apps For 2010

With the iPhone dominating the smart phone market it can be easy to forget there are other phones out there with similar (and maybe better) features. The HTC Hero Android is just one of the many smart phones that deliver exceptional performance with sleek usability. Although the iPhone has the app store that attracts thousands of applications, there are some amazing HTC apps currently available.
Below are the top 5 HTC apps for 2010 - in no particular order:

1. beebPlayer - With the BBC iplayer not currently being available as an app, beebPlayer steps in brilliantly to allow you to catch up on TV shows you have missed. Not only can you catch up on TV, but you can stream live shows too. Although this is a non-official application (not developed by the BBC), it has the look and feel of BBC's iplayer which makes it very easy to use.

2. 3DCoche - How about this for awesome? Augmented reality is the new 'in' function for smart phones, and 3DCoche uses it to amazing effect. The point of this HTC app is to make it easy to find your car in large car parks in places such as football stadiums and shopping centres. Once you have parked, you simply save your current position with 3DCoche and that's it. The app projects the position of your car on top of the camera view of your mobile, allowing you to use the augmented reality view and Google Maps to find its current position.

How to Access BlackBerry Engineering Screens

Accessing Blackberry Engineering Screens is a cakewalk for those who have technology as their main domain. For amateurs, an in depth technical know-how is a must. Those who are brave enough and curious to dive deep into the guts of the blackberry operating system would be interested to hear more about the tool used to access the hidden engineering screen. This way, it's a pretty easy process.

Guidelines
Now, from your home screen, click on to Shift + Alt + H (or Face + Alt on certain Sure Type devices such as Escape or Pearl + tap the top left thrice, followed by once on Sure Press on the top-right.

Now, this would bring up the Help Me screen. Simply take the values shown there (Apple's version, which includes uptime, PIN number and bracketed value) and the number of time you wish to have the Help Me screen get replaced by other engineering screens.

Type the figures in the Thyth-o-matic engineering screen's unlock code generator. Try not to close the Help Me screen, as the code generated is specific to the uptime. Now type in the unlock code offered, and your Help Me screen would automatically get switched to the engineering screens for that particular duration.

Technical Know-How
Unless you specifically know your job, you wouldn't like to mess around with the things in there as there are few relatively low functions which may mess up with your Blackberry.
Nevertheless, it's worth enabling technical utility or out of idle interest, as the case would be. You can observe the battery's internal temperature and check memory usage and internal logs, besides other stuff.

Hardcore techies can check out the algorithm used for generating the code, as the automated code won't probably last long online, especially after RIM Legal has its rage on.

Top 10 Used iPhone Buying Tips - We Cover 16g, 8gb and 4gb Used iPhones

Used iPhone Tip #1: Seek Out Refund Options

Long before you put your money into a used iPhone for sale; make certain the provider of the Phone has a decent return policy, and one that preferably supplies you with a cash back option. Upon the receipt of the used iPhone, inspect the item carefully for exterior damage and interior water damage, and then test the item to make sure it works. If it fails to work, make sure you follow the guidelines set in the used iPhone return policy carefully; some providers of used Apple iPhone 4g, 8gb, and 16gb products place a strict time limit on the time that the consumer has to return the item for cash back or exchange.

Tip #2: Be Selective About Your Used iPhone Purchase

If this is your very first time investing in an iPhone, familiarize yourself with the various features that accompany the iPhone; this way, when you see all the offers out there, you will be able to know precisely what it is you are getting for your money. If you are not new to the iPhone buying experience and you are interested in upgrading your old Apple iPhone 4gb device of any other iPhone for something with more features and options, again familiarity with Apple iPhone offerings is needed. When a consumer knows what is currently available on the market, they are in a better position when it comes time to make their buying decisions.

How To Put Limewire Music, Youtube & Google Video, or DVD Video to iPhone

 By Hoo Yoo

1. Put music and videos from Limewire to iPhone

Limewire is a download tool I assume lot of us use. I often use it to download free music and videos and put them on my iPhone. If you don't have Limewire, you can download it from its official website.

Search and download songs from Limewire. You may get songs in all sorts of formats, but not all formats are supported by iPhone. Usually I select three formats: MP3, AAC and M4A formats that are supported by iPhone and can be directly transferred to iPhone using iTunes. You can visit the official website of Apple for the detailed specs info for iPhone. After you download the songs, open your iTunes, click "File" from the upper left corner, select "Add file to library", browse your computer hard drive and find the songs downloaded by Limewire, select the songs you prefer, click OK and the songs will be put in your iTunes. Then you can just transfer the songs to your iPhone from iTunes.

2. Youtube video to iPhone

I often visit Youtube to watch videos on iPhone and sometimes I download videos which cannot be found on iPhone from Youtube to put on my iPhone. Youtube videos are in FLV formats, so I use a free online FLV converter to do the conversion.

Blackberry 8120 Pearl Titanium Vs. Blackberry Pearl 8100

Blackberry 8120 Pearl Titanium
Blackberry are a renowned manufacturer of mobile smartphones and PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants), they incorporate a completely different keypad layout to conventional mobile phones with full qwerty facilities and different number and letter button combinations for easy text input when writing emails and text messages.

The unusual keypad layout does take some time to master and feel comfortable with is the user has been using normal phones for some time but Blackberry users swear by it and find it extremely hard to convert back to the conventional button array.

RIM's sleek-looking BlackBerry Pearl has been given a makeover, re-emerging as the much improved BlackBerry Pearl 8120.

The BlackBerry Pearl was a big hit when it came out towards the end of 2006. Building on the buzz around smartphones that maker RIM had built up with its solid email access devices, the consumer-focused Pearl fulfilled many tech fans expectations. Some people were disappointed at the mere nod to cameraphones with just a 1.3Mp sensor but, in general, the delighted Pearl most who encountered it.

How to Change a Broken BlackBerry Screen

BlackBerry 8330 Curve
I did a big search all over trying to find how to change a BlackBerry screen without ruining the BlackBerry device itself. Yes, my BlackBerry 8330 fell from my desk, hit the wheel of my chair and cracked the screen! Nothing like a "CrackedBerry!" I was ticked... Anyhow...I couldn't find any good instructions, so I thought I'd post what I found to work because...I figured out how to fix it without one single scratch on the outside of my BlackBerry. Yea! But don't blame me if you scratch yours...I take no responsibility for it. Just take your time when you do it.:) If you dropped your BlackBerry and cracked the screen, do not worry, you can fix it. A broken BlackBerry screen can be fixed by you! First of all, you need to find the BlackBerry screen which fits your device. I got mine from Cellular Nationwide Network. You can Google it. Make sure your BlackBerry model is used for the search on this site!

Blackberry Bold Vs iPhone 3GS Review

Blackberry Bold
Gadget Review: Blackberry Bold vs iPhone 3GS. Blackberry or iPhone? That is the question I hear every day from any person looking to obtain one of the cool gadgets. Well my friends, this review will most certainly shed some light on both phones, and hopefully you will be able to draw some conclusions at the end.

As you know from my previous post: Gadget Review: iPhone 3GS, I am quite the happy iPhone owner. I do not own a Blackberry Bold, but a lot of my friends are in possession of the competitive Research In Motion (RIM) gadget. I have played around with it several times, and I believe I have established a fairly good "rapport" with the Blackberry.

The Blackberry Bold has a very sleek design, unlike its predecessors. I fancied the look of the gadget very much. The QWERTY keyboard was always easy to use, as the buttons are very well designed for data entry on this neat gadget. Now, one of the bigger features on the Blackberry Bold is the screen. The gadget
features a half VGA resolution 480 x 320 pixel color display. The quality of the picture is extremely crisp, and I would be very satisfied to watch the latest episode of Two and a Half Men. The email on the Bold is superb. I do not think there is any real competition for that particular aspect of the Blackberry, as it is the main feature that RIM strives to improve on with every new gadget release. And of course there is the Blackberry Messenger. Loved by many and desired by others. This Blackberry service is free, and it features on every Blackberry released. This cool digital gadget reduces your bill greatly on text messaging. Now of course, this is only available to Blackberry phones, hence making it such a unique feature for the RIM device.

How to Buy a Refurbished iPhone

The Refurbished iPhone Price Factor

While you will certainly want to keep the notion of getting a good price when shopping for a refurbished iPhone in the back of your mind as you shop, do not assume that a great price is the only thing you need to consider. Extraordinary prices are certainly enticing when a consumer is checking out all of the options available, but all-time low prices are not necessarily an indication of quality in every instance. Other things in addition to the price factor need to be considered like the condition of the iPhone, whether or not there is any visible damage on the iPhone, whether or not the Phone is blacklisted, and whether or not the seller providing the refurbished iPhone has a reasonable return policy.

Checking the Condition of the Refurbished iPhone

Apple iPhone Parts

By Tom Lasky

If like many iPhone users, you've discovered that malfunctioning Apple iPhone parts can be a real chore. The decision whether to send an iPhone off to an authorized service center, or simply buy a new one, can put the wallet somewhere between a rock and a hard place. Even if it is cheaper to repair, it might not make any sense to continue with a semi-damaged phone in lieu of a new one for the price. Instead of getting down, it's best to get an idea of what some of the other options are. By finding other users selling broken or damaged iPhones, or even just Apple iPhone parts, it can be easier than you think to fix a broken iPhone- and certainly more economical. Today, Apple iPhone parts are available for low prices, for both the 1st Generation iPhone and the new iPhone 3G model. The same applies to iPods, and other pesky electronic devices. With fairly simple replacement procedures, the average iPhone user should consider a parts replacement before plunking down last month's paycheck for a new product.

Some of the most common problems to face iPhone users are that the LCD screen is of poor condition, rendering the iPhone unusable, that the iPhone has become water damaged, that the battery will not charge or hold charge, that the iPhone has a broken or cracked screen, and that the iPhone won't power on. Instead of tossing the phone out, especially for broken or cracked screens or faulty batteries, make an easy and cheap replacement with used or wholesale Apple iPhone parts. Maybe a repair is covered by a warranty, or maybe not. Regardless, keep all your options open when it comes to electronics repairs. With easy online how-to

Troubleshooting Your IPhone - Recharge, Restart, Reset, Remove, and Restore

By David K Chan

There are many reasons that you might be experiencing problems with your iPhone. But before doing something to correct what is wrong, you need to find out first what caused the problems. Troubleshooting your iPhone is not as difficult as you would think. In fact, you might be surprised that you can troubleshoot your own iPhone even if you are not a tech savvy person.
A frozen iPhone is one of the most common problems of the Apple iPhone. This means that your iPhone is not operating as expected or totally not working. Here are some of the tips and tricks for fixing your iPhone when it freezes or when other problems arise.

Recharge. Make sure to charge your iPhone with a high-powered USB port, not on a low powered one. Your keyboard USB port (if you have one) is low powered, therefore you cannot charge your iPhone with that port. Only a high-powered USB port will charge your iPhone or you can also use your iPhone AC adapter. You can easily determine if your iPhone is not receiving a power to charge by just looking at the battery image. If you see the red part of the battery image flash three times and then the screen goes black... this is an indication that the iPhone is not charging.
If recharging your iPhone doesn't solve your problem try this one.

Cell Phone 101
Power transmitters allow cell phones to broadcast a signal to the closest cell-tower. As you roam from tower to tower, your mobile phone's signal strengthens or weakens depending on your proximity to the tower.
Unfortunately, the presence of numerous towers does not guarantee constant, signal strength. Many variables can interrupt cellular phone transmission including tall buildings, mountains, building interiors, parking structures and elevators. A GPS receiver is not required in order for your cell phone to transmit information about your location. The towers are able to measure your signal strength, length of signal travel time between towers and the angle with which the signal is received.

GPS 101
GPS receivers use radio waves like a mobile phone. However, it does not use the ground towers a mobile phone uses. 27 total satellites are ready to actively locate your mobile device. These GPS satellites can work with the cell-tower transmitted information and offer enhanced location data. GPS receivers and mobile phones have many things in common.

Gps Phone

Comparing the GPS Phone With Other GPS Systems

For a smoother transition, phone manufacturers are equipping their mid-range and high-end devices with similar GPS hardware found in GPS devices being sold today. Software developers are also doing their part incorporating a GPS interface to the phone forming a GPS phone.
GPS phones are increasing in popularity as users become more dependent upon them. Some GPS phones may have a keypad for navigating the interface or may utilize a touchscreen interface to suit those that are used to the touchscreen functionality of GPS devices.
Compared to GPS devices, GPS phones can be similarly priced, but have the phone and messaging capabilities that ordinary GPS devices lack. On the feature side, the GPS phone is pretty adequate when it comes to basic functions. If the phone has a good camera, users can make better use of their GPS phone without much effort. An average GPS phone can be compared with an ordinary sports or GPS device. These phones often have keypads and these results in the screen being smaller than the dedicated GPS devices. Some Considerations of the Cell Phone of the Future

My first cell phones were state-of-the-art at the time, but if you saw them today, you'd laugh. This of course included the battery pack to power up to 3 Watt phone.
You see, at that time not very many people had the cell phones and they were very expensive.
Another one of my first phones was a Audiovox 1000 model, which was quite large and it was mounted in my car, a car phone - cell phone. The box that ran the Cell Phone was mounted under the seat, and there was a cradle that held the headset. The headset had a cord on it just like a phone at home, before the cordless phones that is. This Cell Phone or car cell phone was wired directly to the battery with a couple of fuses. When I turned on the vehicle, the Cell Phone would automatically turn on. Folks today take all this for granted, as they don't realize how cumbersome the original cell phones were, or how stupid they were compared to modern day smart cell phones. Today they give you a free cell phone when you sign up for service - back then you had to pay $1000 for a car cell phone, and as much as a couple hundred dollars to have it installed. Often people today do not realize what it was like before mobile cell phones. Anyone who is in business now over the age of 50 certainly realizes, because they remember a time when there were no cell phones.
Business People who didn't smoke filled their ashtrays with coins so they can stop and use the pay phone. When cell phones first came into play they displaced the old Motorola technology of push to talk phones, which worked off a mountaintop repeaters, these phones were very big in the military, construction industry, and all the executives with large corporations had them.
Since this was radio technology, they worked farther than the first cell phones which had to be within 10 to 15 miles of a cell tower. Today, the cell phones are less wattage than they were back then, so the average cell tower is 6 miles or less apart. Back then the cell phones worked off three Watts, and now with 3G technology the wattage is under 1 W. Although, there were studies here in the United States, you would be hard-pressed to find those research studies and data on brain tumors, brain cancer, and their relation to the cell phones that people used. At the time I was literally running 1000 to 1200 minutes per month and although that service was much cheaper than the other choices such as the Iridium Satellite Phones, non-cell phone mobile units, as they did not use cell towers, rather satellites - you can imagine the costs of the original cells. The other mobile phones at the time were not cell tower-based phones, they were push-to-talk and came in a brief case - it was considered quite James Bond at the time. Many of the businessmen who owned corporate jets had these types of phones. Later, just as cell phones came into play, someone came up with the idea of 1.5 way and two-way pagers. Two-way text messaging via cell phones is merely a re-introduction of that similar technology. Once people had cell phones they didn't need to use the text pagers anymore, and that technology was leapfrogged as the price of the cell phone services was lower, as competition increased between companies like Sprint and AT&T. The cell phone industry grew so fast in the late 80s and early 90s, that eventually there was coverage everywhere. I can tell you this - my first cell phones were much more powerful and worked much better than the cell phones of today.
Fast forward to today and now no one goes anywhere without a cell phone. Social researchers have noted fewer people wearing wrist watches. They don't need a wristwatch because that is a standard feature on all cell phones now. It seems that the wrist-watch replaced the pocket watch, and the cell phones seem to be replacing just about everything. These days people use their cell phone or smart phones to do their e-mails, and these same phones act like a PDA, no one carries day planners anymore, although a few people do, myself included perhaps out of habit from using a day planner from the time I was 12 years old in my business until I was in my mid-40s. Today with many laptop notebooks, PDAs, and smart phones, it seems none of that other stuff is needed. Today, our cell phones have changed the entire dynamics of our society. There are unspoken etiquette issues of cell phone use in public. There are rules when we can use our cell phones and when we can't. Issues such as driving with a cell phone and the number of auto deaths which occur while people are driving and talking on the phone at the same time. Our smart phones are becoming super cell phones that have more and more features, such as the ability to store music like the iPod, and vast amounts of data like our electronic PDAs. One recent study in the cell phone industry noted that 90% of the people who own cell phones have never used all the features, and do not know how to program them, or even that they exist on their cell phone. Some allow you to use your cell phone to do remote programming too.
Cell phones and our current smart phones are no exception. It's hard to say the future what types of new features in our cell phones will have. The early adopters of such cell phone and smart phone technologies are willing to spend big bucks to have all-in-one devices. Our on-line Think Tank came up with a plan to produce a PhD or Personal Health Device, which tracks your diet - on your cell phone. The smart phone would have a scanner system on it, later subsequent versions of this smart phone and personal health device would be able to scan products via RFID tags. GPS systems by way of smart phones or cellular high-tech phones is quite possible (now available), and you don't even need satellites to do it. Google Phone and social networking connections appear to be on horizon. One recent study of cell phone users was able to have a 93% predictability of where a person might be based on the patterns determined by their cell phone, and when it was connected to any given local cell tower. Consider if you will the use of technology in Tiananmen Square - should governments be worried about your smart phone technology, or the future of 4G wireless cell phones? There are many cell phones that allow you to use speech recognition to dial phone numbers, search your databases, or navigate the screens on your cell phone. Your cell phone will even become a payment device, hooked to your credit card information. All this technology exists today.
We've recently seen at Comdex and CES shows the first generations of projection cell phones, that is to say video conference enabled cell phones which allow you to project to the other party onto the nearest wall or onto a table so you can watch.
